Missing Sprint Handset - week 7

Where are the missing Sprint handsets?

Are they under Jorma's bed?

They're certainly not on Sprint shelves or on their web site. They're nowhere to be seen at Radio Shack.

How disappointing!

We were all promised that they were already there on December 2.

"Starting today, wireless customers can make and take clear calls on the new PCS Phone..."
press.nokia.com

SIX full weeks past.

Can't do data, of course... but they're fire engine red!

Sad... sad... sad.

Holiday selling season down the toilet... Q1 prospects pissing away.

What's up?

Enquiring minds want to know...

Adding to the mystery, 1/11 comments from ImmerStark on HowardForums:

" there is a problem with it, we just don't know for sure what it is, I was supposed to have the phone in my store early to mid December, and then that was pushed back to the end of December, and it has been pushed back again. I would almost bet that the shipment went to Sprint after Jan 1 and Sprint is debating weather to pay the fine to the FCC or send the phones back to Nokia and get 3585i's to replace it. (Because Sprint can't accept orders of non location capable phones after Jan 1.) ... repeated delays will result in failure. Look at Nokia's wcdma mess."

[[[ Comment - there was an extension to the Jan.1 deadline, so that rationale for continued delays appears unlikely. ]]]

When will the beans spill?

LOL!
