Wayne, I'm a bit more cynical. I think Faux News and right wing talk shows have good ratings for the same reason comic books outsell serious novels and Jerry Springer outdraws Meet The Press. All the media has made a huge shift to the right. Unfortunately, this occurs at just the time we have a President playing with civil liberties and committing us to wars funded with tax cuts. It could be Orwellian. All of those things may be necessary, but I would like there to be a sceptical journalist in the crowd instead of a bunch of dittoheads screaming "yes, sir, Mr. President."
