In Israel, this Israeli ARAB, is still on the ballot, with no criminal trial. This is a democracy, showing unbelieveable restraint, giving the Arab minority, a voice, even though that voice is abhorent to the overwhelming majority of Israeli's.

I would agree with that.. However, bear in mind that he has been barred from running for re-election.

But even at that, it was only do to Likud's majority in the Knesset that these candidates were prevented from running again. There was opposition to the banning, and the party they represent has not been banned..

Personally, I'd have them thrown in jail myself for treason and providing aid and comfort to the enemy since Israel is technically in a state of war with the PA and Hamas.

Methinks they are getting off rather lucky with a mere banning from politics. Which goes far to underline the democratic sensibilities of the Israeli people as a whole.

Now if we could just see a Jew elected to an Arab position of leadership.. That is, when they decide to hold open and fair elections at all...
