Nobody says the Jews were the earliest known settlers of Israel/Palestine, only that they constitute a cohesive, identifiable group whose land was taken away from them by force in historical time.

It's no more absurd than the Irish trying to evict the British after several hundred years or the Yugoslavians finally evicting the Turks after several hundred years. Some people have very long memories.

This is exactly where you are wrong. The various Native American tribes are constantly litigating and negotiating over land claims, as well as water rights, hunting rights, and so on, after several hundred years. They have long memories, too.
