America's inventory of firearms is a huge security concern.

And of course it's incredibly costly. Not only do guns kill thousands but they leave many times that seriously injured
and disabled. Currently it's estimated to cost $100 billion
per year.

Gordon, you should read Pox Americana. It mentions just how common firearms were among Native Americans (Indians), and how dependent many tribes were upon firearms. Ironic, given Bellesiles' claims.
