It is very shocking, and very sad indeed. Having your own children die when the Israeli army attacks might put you on the fast track to apathy for the children of "the others", I suppose. They are not apathetic. They throw parties. The Israelis do not rejoice over dead Palestinian kids, try to avoid killing them, and investigate their deaths. A circle of hate and violence. Both sides are equally guilty, in my opinion, but I don't think you would agree to that. If you think it's the same on both sides, recall the power imbalance. As we are reminded incessantly, the Israelis have tanks and Apaches and F-16s. The Palestinians just have rifles and mortars and explosives. Now imagine reversing this dynamic. Fatah and Hamas get Israel's armament, and vice-versa. What happens next? Carpet bombing of Tel Aviv, I should think. Why hasn't it happened to Ramallah?

The Arabs have 22 countries. What do they need a 23rd for? Surely, you are jesting. I believe it is a valid question Zonder.. Nadine accurately stated that Jordan is 75-80% "palestinian" and ruled by a Hashemite Arab (with a Palestinian queen. And I believe it is important to ask this question since it brings to the surface exactly what kind of country are we going to arbitrarily bring into existence. And if we do this, what are the ramifications for every other nation with a dissident minority population willing to blow up civilians with suicide bombings?? And it's a question worth asking since every other Arab nation was arbitrarily created after the fall of the Ottoman Turks. Hawk
