I'm don't want to patronize you, but you really need to understand the mentality of the Islamic militants Hawk, my dear... (pause here for batting of eyelashes <g>)... one of us lived among Muslims for a very long time, and that ain't you. I'm don't want to patronize you, but you really need to understand the mentality of the Islamic militants who are behind the strategy of suicide bombings and the kind of mental twisting that is required to make people prefer death over life.. If you read the media in more than one language, and I do, you might have a different view of things. You might actually read about the families' accounts, who quite often tell of how the suicide bomber just lost his wife and/or kids in an Israeli raid. I am not saying this is intentional or barbaric of Israeli Army. Just that the innocent die in such things and their families might be cut off from life's pleasures and more than a little tempted to take revenge. I am not denying that Islamic militants are scary and twisted freaks, but that is not to say that suicide bombers are all twisted in their hands and are anxious to join the "virgins" in heaven, as you seem to believe. Why do you think the suicide bombers are hailed as heroes? Could it possibly be that they are seen as having done the ultimate sacrifice to "avenge their people"? Forget the fact that they are muslims.. Imagine any religious cult which advocated such kinds of terroristic attacks, whether it be christian, shinto, jewish, or hindi.. Do you think I care about the religion? The Jews fought their own "guerilla war" against the British, and some of them committed very questionable acts of terror.. But none of them that I know of, ever based their strategy upon blowing themselves up while targeting civilians. I am not familiar with that page in history but it sounds interesting. You seem to think I approve of terrorism. I don't. However, I am for correctly identifying the problem - a problem of two sides, not one - and then applying the correct solution to it. Portraying Palestinians as bloodthirsty, pyromaniac lunatics is not "correct identification" of the problem and growing settlements into occupied territories is certainly not the "correct solution" is all I am saying.
