OT ** >> I assembled too large a position.

AD, I am a firm believer that in contrarian bets, one has to be able to make 3 progressively larger plays. The market will almost surely go against the opening move. So when the price becomes more extreme, one should press the play. Then, finally, when the market goes with ones position. and the total trade is profitable, the last increment should be bet.

I would have held my play this morning if it had been smaller

I know you would have. I don't think the position was too large, just that you were not used to swinging such a big bat, so you choked before the normal volatility took her back to you. You were just not used to staring at paper losses of that magnitude on a single play, even though they're manageable for you.

You will have many more opportunities to swing the big bat.
