what do you think of Lapid? I only know what I read, I've never even seen the show, let alone talked to him like you (name-dropper! -g-). Semi-hysterical left-wing writers aside, what I read tallies up with what you're saying. I think political show hosts must all be professional blowhards to some degree; just compare how much more thoughtful Chris Matthews is as a guest on someone else's show than as host of his own. It would be a total hoot to see him in power, no? Lapid would be the most surprised of all if he turns out to be Israel's Jesse Ventura, I think. I notice lots of Israelis are recollecting the elections of 1996, when pre-election polls told the whole country that Peres would win, and everybody woke up the next morning to find out that Netanyahu had won instead.
