LPS5,

You, sir, are the one who claimed "innocents" have been executed. Your inability to name even one proves you to be full of BS.

re > I don't care if it was before or after the reinstitution: would you suggest that a life
today is worth more than a life fifty years ago? <

Anyone with any knowledge would know that the rules put in place by the USSC in the ruling that allowed the states to use capital punishment again make comparisons between the current system and that which was used before the ban useless to the point of stupidity. Nobody claims that mistakes weren't made before the ban.

Your failure to put up (or shut up) tells me all I need to know about your analytic ability.

re >Nor can you, similarly, prove the uncontested guilt of all such individuals executed.<

Typical, hypocritical dodge as I have never claimed an innocent wasn't executed, you did specifically claim that innocents have been executed. Were you lying? Given your inability to back up your claim I can only assume you were. Put up or shut up. I am referring simply to your claim that an innocent has been executed and I will only consider a post ban execution.

I suspect your unsupported claim grew out of a certainty that you are correct about this issue. However, your desire to save "innocent" lives does NOT justify false assertions. You in fact do your cause a disservice when you make unverifiable charges. Why would I listen to someone who is so cavalier with the truth? Fact is this single point tends to make me consider anything you say with a mountain of salt or simply ignore you completely.

Your only credible responses to this post would be (1) to name at least one "innocent" executed since the ban or (2) admit that in fact you cannot name one. I know you can't do (1) and suspect you are incapable of (2).

BTW I live in a no DP state and would not support changing that but, unlike Gov. Ryan, I would not put my opinion on the matter ahead of the majority of voters or the judges and juries empowered by that majority. Talk about capricious and arbitrary!!!
