It is the continuing error of the neoconservatives to assume that Bush is not a moron

We are about to find out. The State of the Union will tell.

it's typical for conservatives to believe that intelligence is inherited, so what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

The stakes are much higher for 2.0. 1.0 will be remembered as a mediocre president with a signficinant military win that he failed to leverage. If you are right 2.0 will be known as the president that destroyed US credibility and authority in the world. He will be reviled.

Hi all; (OT) Statistics for the phrase "Bush paint into corner" vs "Saddam regime change".

Google allows you to make searches over time periods of the last 3 months, and time periods of "anytime". This allows us to compare the frequency of items from the last 3 months with the frequency before then, by subtraction.

"bush painted into corner"
Last 3 months: 18,100
Before last 3 months: 53,600 - 18,100 = 35,500

"saddam regime change"
Last 3 months: 68,000
Before last 3 months: 138,000 - 68,000 = 70,000

The "corner" ratio has gone from 18,100/68,000 = 0.266 before the last 3 months, to .507 in the last 3 months.

I note that "painting oneself into a corner" is not the sign of a great genius. It literally means to apply paint to the floor of a building in such a way that one is unable to exit without walking through it. It's a sign of incompetence, or even stupidity, but it is being associated with Bush's name over and over, increasingly as time has gone on.

No, Carl, this is your biggest continuing error. Bush will make mistakes, but he is not a moron. This is your major "False Premise," IMO.
