Ok sorry, i did misread it then, you did say 'under the right circumstances' you could 'flip the switch' so that would connote being part of an organised and most likely governmental effort to snuff the designated perp, and to connect that with 'vigilante justice' was wrong of me, at least technically so according to dictionary terms .... likely i had other nearby posts in mind[?] when typing that

'If I kill a rattlesnake in the back yard....it is not an emotional act....it is a practical one...'

It's also -
1. a rattlesnake not a human being
2. you personally - 'I' ... not a state-organised effort
3. in your back yard

... and while i'm not that familiar with rattlesnakes, i would question that there could be a lack of emotion to their killing ... i've killed snakes south of rattlesnake country, and let me tell you plain - there was something in me at those moments that i would describe as emotion ... hair stands up on neck, adrenalin rushes, all else is forgotten until killing is complete ... if this is not emotion perhaps i don't understand the definition of the term ... of course it is also quite practical, as once killed that snake will not kill someone's kid, nor breed another that will

To extend this to a governmental action against a captive human being, naaah ... doesn't work for me ... cheers
