Personally, I have no clue....I can site you a dozen quality reasons as to why the market will rise, but I can also give you a dozen quality reasons as to why dow will see 5000, naz 700.......so, I have no clue, and I dont think anybody else does either...after all, NOBODY can see into the future, and the markets have never been as they are today.....throw out the past...this is a totally new day and age, with so much different, the past means squat.....None of the analysts, none of the fund managers...nobody really knows for sure which way the market will move...the good thing about this, is it gives the shorts something to think about...we went thru a time when if you went long, almost anything, you would get huge gains, and a period ( hopefully ending) where you could short almost anything and have huge gains...in both scenarios, the bulls and the bears had little to worry about, as market direction was obvious.....but now, we rallied off the lows....shorts had a tough couple months.....they still think we are falling off a cliff, and this is just a bear rally, and maybe they are right, maybe not, but at least the shorts are having to be more careful, as many stocks have seen nice gains, charts are looking better, and etc, etc....also, the shorts have to beware that the tide could change in a big way...with so many shorts, and so much sideline money, it could be a rather nice rally if things work out...and the shorts have to be aware of this....at the same time, the longs must be aware of world events, economic's and etc, etc......as I believe Sig said yesterday....."very odd, weird market"......both bulls and bears must have a good safe strategy, as this market has not indicated a firm direction......so again, I am staying long, but keeping some cash to buy if we get a big whack...

yep my sentiments exactly- repeat of early 90s, base for a while then another bull later... contrary to popular belief this bull will be good due to the consolidation we have seen in the naz at least, jmo
