valuetrader, right behind you - raising cash

Why it looks like PM miners melt down today.
HUI look ugly

Down to 21% miners (and metals via CEF), 31% Can Roys (they keep rising) 21% E&Ps (added XEC kicked out CED) and the rest, the rest...

Rather interesting that the miners here are so much weaker than the metal....Suppose there is just so much money to invest and there's much of it waiting for Intel and the other big caps to report.....suspect we'll see a peak in the NASDAQ here soon in response to these earning reports.

For the first time since May 2001
I have some significant cash. About 70% in fact and about 30% PMs. If gold goes to the moon tomorrow Oh well.
My cash is worth over twice what my accounts were worth when I started (incidently at a little mini top).

Took some bodacious, awe inspiring, magnificent, humongous,
death defying (well hyperbole is my middle name) profits in
SWG ELD* MFL CBD Decent overall profits in GLG PAAS SSRI (despite today's drops) Sold some other stuff for minor losses and gains-(but which I had mostly bought with other gains by and large-ie GG).

Well was thinking of taking a month or so off (from the market) and concentrating on the rest of my life for a while, but Isopatch may have given me gas.
finance.yahoo.com

In the past, I have let many a big profit slip away so today I just decided to sell.
I could have done better; I did not sell at the top. but I had a good result.

There is an old orthopedic saying: The enemy of good is better. If you have set a fracture and have a good (but perhaps not quite perfect) result, leave it. Don't mess with it. You will probably ruin your good result trying for a better one.

* My broker says he wants to write me up in the WSJ for my ELD profit. Actually there was an old post I believe in the old SI Gold and Silver thread here about ELD being on a fire sale. That was really my inspiration.
I would love to be able and hunt up that post and honor and thank the poster.

Well thanks to VVT and Claude Cormier AND everyone else.I have had a lot of help.
Now whither shall we go?....
