It seems to me that the cost of life without parole exceeds the cost of execution. Or at best, it's a push. Perhaps we should cut the cost of execution anyway. 12 years of appeals for some of these blood thirsty maniacs is way too much.

Let's start with this: The Mexican War started AFTER Mexico declared war on the United States. The US then reciprocated with a declaration of war on Mexico.
