Unilateral vs. acting within an alliance - if you don't have an argument and plan adequate to swing allies to your side, then you haven't yet done your homework, which is to build a base in logic for rightful action ... this would apply to the iraqui situacion too at the moment

Something like Nato probably ... canadians would want to see the danes and dutch in there, but also the anzacs ideally ... i would like to see the mexicanos involved as well .... Castañeda just quit as foreign minister though, la República is sliding back to xenophobia again, post-11-Sept influences cited as cause

It could be argued that George Marshall was the greatest US national of the twentieth century ... lesser known is the fact that he won the war by competent organisation of materiel, but he is quite rightly most famous for winning the peace ... there was a lesson in this, it was a good idea, great example for us in the future, and it clearly paid off

'wall around Israel' - only as high and as long as necessary ... bridges should be the ultimate goal ... for them, you need a whole lot less whacko religion around that part of the world - on both 'sides' .... got to go, later
