Michael,
thx for sharing your input on STOR and on compound semis. I loved your contribution wrt. to MOCVD on the Wennerstrom thread and immediately saved it.

My provlem with many of the 2nd tier compound semis like AXTI, ANAD, KOPN, CLTK etc. is that they aren't EBITDA positive yet. And that's what I think the street is looking for: at least a cash flow positive situation. The only situation near cashflow break even are AMCC, VTSS and probably TQNT. One of them (was it VTSS ?) is even trying to establish a new business model - InP contract fabbing. I feel tempted to think that this de-coupling of the value chain for state of the art compound semi processes is the right thing to do and it should nicely add to market's size as fabless players should have it easier to operate - and there are a thousand points of activity blossoming in the backyard .... I view this is really significant. So I conclude I'd rather invest in VTSS, AMCC and probably TQNT than their smaller brothers at the moment..

cheers
CROSSY

re: Tokyo Cosmos Electric (6772.J)
this seems to be an unusual valuation in Japan. PE under 5 and PSR of 0.10. The stock zoomed ahead 16% on record volume in Tokyo yesterday and is expected to generate 22 Yen in the years going forward. This is a maker of optoelectronic and specialty discrete resistor and inductor products

I did some DD on the Japan thread: Message 18593906
