I don't know warp. Sideways crappola is so hard to read. So I'll just tell what I see and hope it helps.

RSI looks positive. I read somewhere that when RSI's dips stay above 40 it's indicative of a bull-type market/move.

Stochastic is pretty worthless when something is going sideways.

PPO is curling up, which is good.

On ADX the little green line is pointing up and the little red line is pointing down, which is also good.

Trend-wise, it looks like the stock just broke above both the top of the sideways channel as well as the 200 day SMA.

So, is it a breakout?

Um ... Yes, at least a little bitty one. No guarantee it won't rebound tomorrow though. <g/ng>

p.s. The one thing I don't like about the chart is the way that volume seems to being going down across the last few months. Just doesn't "feel" very bullish. BWDIK?

Warp,

Re: PKI

Is it a breakout? Yes.

Is it a strong breakout? No.

Breakouts need to be confirmed with huge volume, at least 50% higher than average.

When looking at the chart, notice the volume patterns that accompanied the price breakout at $6. That was a breakout as we like to infer as "breaking out."

I would recommend using a different chart background and separate your volume indicator from being an overlay. You should be able to clearly see distribution and accumulation days.

In my opinion, PKI is building a basing pattern before taking its next step. After a stock has a steep rise or fall, it will go into a basing or trading range. That's what we are looking at on the chart over the last month or two.
