A federal death machine: all the coercive power of the Internal Revenue Service wrapped in all the competence of the bureaucracy that runs Amtrak, public education, ad infinitum.

Sure, they'll get some of the bad guys. Maybe even a lot of them. But every so often,

"Murder" is a legal definition. A state's executioner carrying out a court order is not murder.
