Hi Zonder,

Might I be so crass as to briefly discuss portfolio strategy? How are you positioned internationally at the moment? Are you short the dollar and/or US stocks? Do you presently manage OPM [other people's money]?

Sam

Well, free or actually orderly associations seem to be most important in USA foreign and domestic
politics these days, one reason to make fun of them.

Sentences, sorry, most that I write is comments, documentation, on software, peer-to-peer, with limited
space to to keep readability possible by still keeping the whole thing within "a human glance" as well as
"short term memory", less than an A4 (additionally finnish is differently structured than english and
similar indo-european languages)

Btw, there are some history behind the US habit of shortnening, abbreviating, as well as rules for it.
Don\t remember how "the story" went, but I believe military, corporative projects, programming had some
importance. Technically it is more suitable for english than for many other languages as the
english way of pronouncing the alphabet, especially the consonants, are syllables.
(that is, this kind of "fills up the gaps", if not, one uses an X)

Additionally the general rule is that vowels are "the carriers" of words, while the consonants
contain the actual "infromation", that is, the vowels can be reconstructed.
The fact that english pronounciation and spelling are so "disconnected" had some part in it too??

That is, as somebody told me many years ago (got the impression this was from the days of
short-hand writing, secretaries taking notes with paper and pen, etc)

A more freudian, additional explanation might be one of "secret brotherhood language"??

The 6 month rule and all the rest must be mutually agreed on. Some tax-laws have major
"goals", "spirit of the law" as "tax-evasion is illegal", "in general, all should pay taxes".

One over-riding factor of the 6 month rule might be strict, technical definition on how many
days within the period are allowed for "family purposes" in the land of citizenship,
as well as "major connections", like business, family, house, etc in the nation of citizenship.
(I think US law bluntly says "all US citizens and residents are taxed by USA")

The solution is bilateral tax-agreements to at least avoid double-taxation.

That is, I do not think Monaco will be able to "use and abuse" its tax-structure in
the long-term future as all of EU converges member state tax-practices, pension, healthcare,
right to education,etc..

In a similar way EU-USA are working out bilateral agreements, and next are the actual
tax-evasion havens, carribean islands, etc

My original point is that this "war on terrorism and funding" is speeding up this process.
US has not really wanted to participate earlier but now US is driving "the process" in
terms of demanding banks,etc to report money-flow, accounts,clients, etc,etc..
(note, I have no idea on how this affects Monaco, which is anyway a very special case among
the special cases)

Btw, Bush is about to do something on SS-pensions, the 14% (7+7%)
Social Security tax even "illegal aliens" pay in USA, as it is not illegal to employ
an "illegal", but illegal for the employer to not pay the SS-tax. (just to connect
this issue more directly to USA domestic affairs)

Something like $300 billion collected from "bogus" social security numbers, but after
this point I am lost. I have always wondered how the book keeping is done, and
how the pension is then claimed?? (something to do with becoming "naturalized"
after X years of beeing an "illegal, working alien", with those tax-payments as documents??)

Btw,btw, this issue became famous in USA some years ago when some top-politicans,
female, had to step down as they had not paid SS-tax for their little illegal alien
Mexican inhouse-guest-maid for some 10-15 years, funny stuff.
(these issues also increasingly important within EU)
