Mike, New Era folks aren't the only ones. It is the American way of life. The robber barons sure didn't dot every i and cross every legal t. I really don't believe that Clinton was a focus of the election. If so, Gore would have won hands down. It was basically a guy with no personality barely beating a guy with a minor personality in the popular vote and losing the election due to some shenanigans. Neither candidate was a great catch, IMHO, and I doubt the economy would have been much better under President Al. However, I doubt we'd be on the brink of war with several dinky countries at once. The military vote is an odd one. The lifers tend to vote right wing while the one-termers are more liberal. The lifers also tend not to have their votes "lost" before they are sent back to the states. <g>
