Crime rates in prison are quite high. We will have to execute everyone to eliminate all crime. Alternatively we could just make everything legal.

Hmmm.... I thought, in practice, "beyond a reasonable doubt" is bound to imply that sometimes a guilty person would walk because that standard could not be met.

And I thought that's at least part of the reason for a jury system. Why bother with slow, cumbersome, expensive jury trials if nothing but suspicion is required for conviction?
