Why in the world would I join with Le Carre, after the nature of the criticism I had made? Hmm, good question. I genuinely don't know. But I did. Frankly, if you wish to get serious I simply didn't take this all that seriously. I found le Carre's take interesting and, as always, since I like his work, very cleverly done. If we wished to decide what is serious political commentary, we could take our cudgels out on a lot of stuff from the The Weekly Standard and the National Review. But, let's skip it. Onward to the next contretemps.
