Nice earnings from DNA, and another victory for GENZ from the AC today. I'm pleased that I've closed out my longstanding BBH short given the good news from the first tier companies. I even hold modest long positions in some of them (AMGN, BGEN, GENZ), which is pretty unusual for me.

Ashley,

While we wait for my gene therapist (to be specific, he designs vectors) friend to get back to me, here's a hint:

>>AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Introgen Therapeutics (Nasdaq: INGN - News) announced today that all of its clinical trials remain unaffected by the temporary halt placed on certain gene therapy trials which utilize retroviral vectors. Introgen's gene therapy vectors are based on adenoviruses, which are very distinct from retroviruses. As was widely reported today in the news media, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a clinical hold, effective immediately, on retroviral gene therapy clinical studies. This action was precipitated by the second occurrence of a leukemia-like condition in a participant in a French retroviral gene therapy trial. The complete statement issued today by the FDA may be found at fda.gov .<<

So I appear to have been half right, about par for the course for me.

Annie's story with IGEN was a pleasant surprise for me. Are you saying she passed the tip on to you? I'd be a little surprised you didn't hear it here, first. Anyway, it sounds like you've done well, as most of us -- myself included -- have with IGEN. Let me know when you're in town, and you can tell me the story over that beer; you've got me curious now.

Cheers, Tuck
