That's about right.
As I've said before, though, options are useful. Like anything, it's about moderation. Options were a currency in the 90's. Not a very good currency, either. I have a friend who is strapped now due to a loan he took out against his (now worthless) options. I told him it was a bad idea. Of course, I'm just as much a victim, since I took a job that underpaid me in exchange for options (now worthless). However, the value of my learning experience (new industry) offsets that loss. I'm bitter that I didn't make anything, but I am now able to command a 50% pay raise. Not bad for a deferral.
