Relatively speaking, there are good wars and bad, even if war is always lamentable. Good wars end as quickly as is feasible, with the least toll possible, especially on our side. Reasonable people try to conduct wars according to these desiderata, hence the notion of "reasonable war"........

Uttered by people who have no danger of being where the action is, but who have no problem sending others to their deaths, and to kill others.

The obscure, self-serving, pedantic justifications would be hilarious, if it weren't for the injury and death of so many thousands of innocents caused by criminally irresponsible sorts.

It's so easy -- "Go get 'em guys!", and sit back in front of the telly with a nice Zinfandel to watch the infrared pictures of Nintendo Politics. Ask any of them if their own sons or family will fight on the ground in harm's way....
