Mis:

The research load has been consequential of late, hence I have been up to my ears with work. Thankfully, I've been fairly disciplined and stayed mostly in the foxhole during most of this rally (a few small scars acquired, as well as a few nice scalps claimed), but virtually all the markers I consider important have moved from nasty to downright scary so for me, it is time to start tossing a few grenades at some of my favourites.

I lobbed the first few out yesterday (CDWC and KLAC) and will pitch a few more before IBM's release tomorrow evening. I would prefer to let option expiration slide by before getting too aggressive, but given my expectation that, generally speaking, Q4 numbers will be worse than expected and that guidance will be downright ugly, I see the risk/reward situation becoming heavily biased in favour of Darth Vader. Delightfully, the sheep have driven the weakest sector (techs) back into the stratosphere, so as Fred Hickey might say, we get yet another chance to ride "the gifts that keep on giving".

Best, Earlie
