The garlic really tastes better when it hasn't been processed commercially.....but then don't all spices ? I grow many of the spices I use in my back yard........ Yup, same here. I also have several places that send me stuff. Garlic comes from the same place where we grow citrus stuff (the best in the whole world). I'll just get it sent to me unprocessed, right out of the ground. I like the leaves anyway in salads, soups and heaped on roasts and junk like that.
