From current levels, look for that 1440 to 1444 range to serve as a very near-term pivot point. To the upside, watch for initial resistance at 1448 to 1452 followed by additional overhead at 1461. To the downside, look for initial support now at 1435 followed by an additional floor at the index' 200-day simple moving average which now rests at 1428. 10:31AM Nucor weakens on WTO ruling (NUE) 42.38 -2.25: We are hearing that this morning's weakness in NUE is being attributed to a WTO panel's decision to uphold a ruling that said a U.S. law that requires the govt to distribute anti-dumping duties to co's violates global trade rules.

10:31AM SOX -1.6% underperforms broader market; moves to lows of day; next supports 317 and 315 319.65 -5.29: Among the names participating in the decline are BRCM -2.9%, MXIM -2.3%, LLTC -2%, XLNX -2%.

10:25AM SanDisk breaks recent range (SNDK) 18.40 -1.41: -- Technical -- Slipped below the bottom of its week long range this morning and is probing support in the 18.50/18.35 area. For the very short term, progress back above the 18.75 and 19/19.11 barriers needed to improve the negative pattern. Failure and a push below the current support zone exposes supports at 18.10/18 and 17.75. Stock has already plunged 24% off the Jan high.
