As far as Ashcroft goes, I share your distaste for Bible Meetings. But it goes with these people. The other side has an "Anything Goes" attitude that turns me off.

I couldn’t care less what they think or do at home, but in either case, I would expect - and think every American has a right to expect - that officials will refrain from trying to spread the attitude in question at the workplace.

The operation to fight the Terrorists will be installed. Looking at History, it just takes time for a large Bureaucracy to figure out what to do.

That’s not so bad if you are fighting an equally large and even less efficient bureaucracy. It doesn’t work so well in asymmetric warfare. We will see what happens, but I would expect the terrorist organizations to do the logical thing: spread their assets out and take refuge in countries that are too friendly for us to attack overtly, but too inept (or insufficiently concerned) to root them out. That will neutralize our military advantage, and force us to engage on their terms. I hope we can do this and do it well, but I am not terribly optimistic.
