Well, your forecast was correct (I thought along similar 'lines' -g) - but now, your leg up may have played out. What's next? It's got to be a serious down. Any other views?

David, I think it was you who remarked a few days ago that during a moderate deflation it is possible that gold may go down.

As a result of a serious long-term rally, now gold got respect. We tend to go with the assumption that gold IS money, a store of value, a hedge, etc. But we also know, that given a good strong leg down in the metal, all those perceptions will be quickly “reconsidered”.

I think that a situation when the Dollar would start a major uptrend, while the stock markets – along with gold – would go down is not all that unlikely.
