I recall that the pro-war Zionist site DEBKA said some time ago that US casualties in Afghanistan understated.

The Afghan oppoostion claims over 1000 US troops killed; the US admits 40. I am sure the insurgent claims are greatly inflated, but I am equally sure US losses are a lot more than admitted.
