That isn't true at all. Ebay didn't get hammered, Dell is up since 2000, MSFT is down about 20% or so.

Right in the middle of the bubble (1998 precisely) we had a brutal bear market for software stocks which resulted in sebl trading at 7.50 and oracle around $5. You could have said the same thing about those stocks then, it is always prudent to buy out of favor sectors at the right time.
