Exactly Tim,

Reading around the liberal democrat's website, the DNC is the party promoting ideals based upon skin color. Everything is defined into groups. They're trying to achieve their agenda by playing the groups they have defined against each other. No wonder the DNC is desperate with all Americans coming together in these difficult times.

On racial outreach, Republicans are struggling for a delicate balance as they try to put Trent Lott behind them and focus on the 2004 elections. The party is seeking to mollify blacks within its ranks and recruit more minorities at the same time President Bush is opposing affirmative action in a key court case.

That isn't a mixed signal. The Republican party is trying to recruit more blacks but it is staying the Republican party. Instead of ignoring blacks as it might have in the past it is trying to convince them to support its ideas such as the idea that people should be treated as individuals and not as members of a racial group.

And once again, eliminating affirmative action would be a good thing if people of color, women etc in this country were in fact treated equal under the law. However, I have seen enough statistics to know that's not true. Although the wealth and power stills resides overwhelmingly in the hands of the white man, A.A. helps level the playing field to some degree.

You can remain in denial about this but I can't.
