Of course you haven't. One of the qualities required by "new economy" types like yourself is an innate ability to shamelessly make up "facts and figures" on the spot.

But so you know, over the last five years, many S&P 500 companies beat Yahoo's returns, among them Oracle, Network Appliance, Dell, Best Buy, Lowe's....


Sorry but Oracle is an anomaly in this context. Oracle and software had a crash and burn in the 97/98 timeframe. So if you go from that trough period to now, software looks pretty good- even siebel doesn't look bad since he was 7.50 in 98... but that hardly tells the real story.
