Has anyone, going in to any war, ever known exactly what it would cost?

I have heard figures of $60B to $1T...since I also heard that Turkey's "allegiance" will cost us at least $30B in debt forgiveness + 15Bmore in aid and reparations, I think the $60B is way off. Who knows what we are paying other countries for their "allegiance". I would not use the world "exactly" in this context, by the way...we're just looking for a ball park figure...somewhere within the nearest $100B or so. We ought to be able to do that.

Probably not.......but the smart person does start spending like he has an unlimited credit line right before a war. Mr. Bush is being fiscally irresponsible.
