i agree some of these awards are like the lottery...but i still have to have faith in the legal system as it's the option of last resort..i think some of these jurys hear some damning evidence that inflames them to the point of these rewards but i do not know as i haven't sat on a tort suit. i also think most courts weed out frivolous suits by the very nature that negligence must be proven. and i to don't want to become a veggie..i dealt with that by including a do not resuscitate order in my medical directive.
