Hapuna has a great shore-break when the winter NW swells roll in. The surf was so huge last week there the whole beach was closed so we went over to the one you mentioned, Maumau's, and it was perfect surfing there for long, short & boogie boarders. I took my last wave as the red kona ball of a sun set into the sea. The wahine fish were beached along the shore but seemed to like that,
