thanks. this is the area of my yard that resonates with strong emotional colors - oranges, yellows, bright reds...the rest of the yard is more serene and placid. i'll look out for the rubrifolia in the local nursery when i go there next...i mostly have floribundas, hybrid teas and austins. a couple of modern shrubs <Radio Times-an austin too> try to spread but i cut them down to size often. I think i lose a lot of blooms in trying to maintain the size....but it still looks awesome and smells heavenly.
