I've heard stories from Vietnam vets, from Gulf war vets

then the movie Saving Private Ryan, which is the closest I've ever been to feeling what war is like

and a very accurate account of what it felt like, per the veterans they have interviewed on this movie

remember the opening scenes?

then just after, the shell shock, the fatigue, the stunned look on their faces

then the fight/battle over that bridge? the waiting, the strain, the ensuing chaos

I'm surprised there aren't more 'incidents'
