I don't know... maybe it has to do with options? Maybe they want to give out less options but don't want to lower the shares so they dilute the value, its as good a reason as any.

Imo PCs are the worst of the tech sectors so 10% y/y growth is good for msft. After all intc is not growing 10%/yr these days. The growth in software is enterprise.

If the mkt is going to reward oracle for announcing a possible dividend, but punish msft for it, then I don't know that a dividend is the issue for a declining stock price... its hard to tell but imo it seems like war is the issue.
