Yes I did. That is true and it is also true that Bush is not likely to, nor was Goldwater ever likely to lead us in to a nuclear war.

Anyway, wasn't it Bush who said that nukes were not out of the question?

If people think we will used them in certain extreme situations then they are less likely to cause those extreme situations. Bush's refusual to rule out the use of nukes is not new, we have never ruled them out but we have not actually used nukes as weapons since WWII and I don't expect that to change.
