In all seriousness, we ought not harp on many of the numbers we hear bantered about, nor is it wise to assume that the only potential method of paying for this effort will be oil revenue's per se.

As I would see things, oil revenue's may assist in paying a portion of the cost, BUT their are plenty of dollars going to be made by companies providing services and products to assist in the reconstruction and redevelopment of Iraq as a nation.

My take is that the majority of those dollars will go to the partners making this war possible.

I also believe that the costs mentioned may be inflated. Much of that cost is associated with bribing nations to go along with us. It appears that Turkey is not interested in many dollars for this effort. Perhaps Jordan is not going to take us up either.

My take is that France and Russia will pony up with decent contributions to the effort so they won't be frozen out of post Saddam contracts.

Lastly and this may be key, if we successful handle the Iraqi situation we may find that the effect of that effort will be to assist in changing Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Iran. Those changes may significantly change the dynamics among the Palestinians, giving a real opportunity for peace there.

Heck who knows, it may prove to be a winfall in the future.
