Fortunately, there are still plenty of books being printed that don't depend on advertisers

... about the only place one for logical reasoned argument, and yet fewer read now than ever, it seems.

Some of the blogs are becoming more thoughtful, as more with common sense put more thoughts online in organized fashion

I don't have a Tivo but I don't spend much time watching adds either. A lot of what I watched is taped and I fast forward through the commercials. Or I read something, or change the channel, or go in the other room and get a snack, or talk to someone that I was watching the show with.

The TiVo (and the Replay TV and other similar devices) is not revolutionary in terms of people being able to avoid commercials. It just increases their ability to avoid just a little bit more.

I think some of the commercials will be integrated into shows. Perhaps there will be more pay channels. And commercials will have to be more interesting and/or shorter.
