they've paid interest on the cash from the calls i sold recently. i don't use fidelity. it sounds like they've had difficulties with some people selling options and withdrawing funds/closing accounts before making good on the closing the position.

O/T the thing to do is to have securities in the account to use as margin for your short options.
the most leveraged and riskless are ustreasuries. the standard rate is 90% of the UST value can be used as collateral for naked options margin reqts.
