Ted, speaking of race-relations, I found this rather amusing. Shaq made some racial remarks directed at Yao Ming, whom he'll be playing against tomorrow night:

Now, I am no fan of Shaq, and I never was even before he made those racist remarks. But I find this incident amusing, and I hope Yao Ming absolutely crushes "The Big Aristotle" tomorrow. ;-)

And now I am going to show my bias.......its interesting that the sports columnist not only picked up on the racist intent of Shaq but also saw the ultimate motivation for it. Shaq is getting up there in age for a super sportstar and is threatened by Ming who is an up and comer.

BTW, I never knew the Chinese could play sports......I thought they played only mah jong and chess. <g>

EDIT. I just saw to what newspaper you linked your post.....of course, its a Seattle sports columnist....now I understand. ;~))

RE:"Shaq"...

Lets see if there is a double standard here...and the press for the most part lets it slide.
