No dilemma, weezy.

Nobody flips switches anymore, most certainly not the gov of Texas.

592,000 people have been murdered in the past 30 years. 700 murderers have been executed. Seems to me that the naive criminal coddlers, like you, still hold the advantage.

<< In most states with the death penalty, life without parole is not an option for juries. >>

Five states out of 38 is most states???

Texas, where sentencing reform is needed, and South Carolina, which has executed seven inmates in the past 30 years, are the only two states where this issue is relevant. (The other three - Idaho, New Mexico and Kansas - have executed only one individual between them in the past 30 years.)

The level to which DP opponents stoop in order to propagate dis-information is troubling.

was not too long ago, liberals were bitching that W had gone soft on one of the three perps that killed Mr. Byrd by dragging him behind a vehicle. Seems only two of the three were given the death penalty and the other got life(no matter that it was a jury that meted out penalties, not W.)....liberals screamed to the rooftops....after all this WAS a hate crime...and seeing how it was a hate crime all three should have fried. Had Mr. Byrd been white it would not have been a hate crime I guess.....

Then there was Karla Faye Tucker. She murdered a couple of folks with an axe, then found Jesus while waiting for her execution....I did not hear pinheads scream much on this one...they were in a quandary...they had to figure out how to oppose the death penalty, while trying to discount the fact that Karla Faye was born again. Liberals could not very well be seen as helping a Christian. So, the liberals let justice take it's course without much noise...

Myself? Well, the law of the land is that executions are legal. IF that is changed, then I could live with it. There are places, such as west Texas, where prisons could be built to hold murderers for life. Just make it known that if you are convicted of murder, you have lost ANY rights to do anything....other than to move sand from one end of the compound to the other for 16-18 hours a day for the rest of your life, and doing even that would be considered a reward for good behavior while there..
