I would not assume that the police routinely frame people. Of course, if my daughter were on Death Row,and I thought it was a mistake, I would make every effort to correct it. However, my personal connection to such a situation has no bearing on the logic of the analogy. The fact that people will die in traffic accidents is not reason enough to ban driving, and the fact that some people will wrongfully die due to mistaken conviction is not,in itself, reason enough to give up use of the death penalty.
