With respect to Enterprise/Storage, firm cites its belief that tech is not yet in recovery mode.

Whats wierd is they downgraded enterprise/storage, while upgrading sun. That makes no sense to me. The sun upgrade said sun deserved a higher valuation due to cost cutting, but the truth is, sun is running so close to the edge wrt cash flow that if Goldman really doesn't believe things are going to improve- or they think deterioration, then they wouldn't be upgrading sun because sun will surely fall into the abyss on another downleg. Jmo.

NEW YORK, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs said on Friday analyst Laura Conigliaro raised her 2003 profit outlook on Sun Microsystems (NasdaqNM:SUNW - News) to $0.08 a share from $0.01 a share on lower operating expenses.

.08 from .01 - thats really quite an improvement
