If a law is framed reasonably, and is administered in a non-capricious manner, it is generally held to be valid, if not correct. (A valid law is one accepted as being within the authority of a regime to decide, even if one disagrees with it). Execution has been long established as a reasonable penalty for heinous crimes, and we have a court system that bends over backwards to ensure a fair trial for the criminal defendant. A regime like Saddam's executes on grounds that are unreasonable and capricious.........
